This is the best and simple stir fry Indian sabzi that can be enjoy in lunch or dinner. In English it is called Lady Finger. If there is one classic bhindi dish with Noth Indian flavors, it is the bhindi masala. My Bhindi Masala recipe is an easy and delicious Punjabi style preparation. It goes with especially parathas. This is a comfort food and anyone can make this.

There are many versions to cook bhindi in different culture and cities. Many people like to eat gravy bhindi also.

Bhindi refers to a particular plant in the mallow family. It is popular vegetable in India, not only because it is tasty, but also because it grows so easily. It happens to be one of the most drought and heat tolerant cultivars in the world, making it a great option for people living in warm climates. It can even tolerate growth in clay-heavy soil, which can often be problematic for other vegetables. Bhindi has lot of health benefits.

There are lot of benefits of this. Lady finger is an excellent addition to a diabetic friendly diet. This vegetable is low in calories but rich in high fiber. It is rich in magnesium. It has vitamin C and A. It may help support healthy pregnancy. It has many antioxidants that benefit your health.



Ingredients 


250 gm bhindi
1 large chopped onion 
1 chopped green chili 
1 tsp cumin seeds 
1 tsp turmeric powder 
1/2 tsp kashmiri red chili powder 
1 tsp coriander powder 
1 tsp garam masala 
Salt to taste 
Oil to cook 


Recipe 

  • First wash the bhindi and keep aside and dry it using cloth or paper napkins. Then cut into the round pieces and take a pan and put the oil on it.
  • Now add cumin seeds and crack them.
  • Then add chopped onion and saute for 1 min.
  • Add chopped green chili.
  • After that add chopped bhindi and fry on a low flame until bhindi turns dark green and shrinks. 
  • Now add all the spices like turmeric powder, kashmiri red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt then give a nice mix then cover the lid and cook until bhindi soften.
  • Serve it.

Advice 

  • Choose small and tender bhindi for fast cooking and better taste.
  • Try to always choose light colour bhindi.
  • If you are preparing it in large quantity, then it will take more time to cook.
  • Use wide bottomed pan for faster cooking.
  • Do not use salt until bhindi turns dark green otherwise salt will turn bhindi soggy.
