In India many different kinds if sabzis are served as a main dish or a side dish depending on how people are prepared and which meal people are being served. Hara pyaaz in English spring onion and aloo in English potato. Rich and creamy vegetable curry is usually served as a main dish with bread or rice. However, for I cook dry vegetables as a side dish with dal-chawal. Sabzis add variety, nutrition to all sorts of Indian meals.

Green onions are easily available in the market in winter and spring season. Green onion has many properties, it is very tasty, and it gives a spicy flavor to your mouth.

Spring onion helps in digestion. It is a great source of fiber that helps in digestion and ensures smooth bowel movements. It prevents low blood sugar and keeps the heart healthy. It boosts immunity and makes bones strong. As we all know the benefits of the potato, it has fiber and potassium. It may also improve digestive health and combat signs of aging.

So, I can say that this dish tasty as well as healthy too. And it goes with everything.



Ingredients

  • 250 gm spring onion
  • 3-4 potatoes
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • oil to cook 


Recipe

  • First chop spring onion and chopped potatoes in small pieces and keep aside then take a pan and put the oil.

  • Add hing to give a nice taste

  • Then add cumin seeds and crackle them for giving a nice aroma.


  • Now add chopped potatoes and fry till light golden pink.

  •  Chopped spring onion and give a nice mix.
  • At this stage add all the spices like turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt then mix well.
  •  Cover the lid and cook for 10 mins on a low flame.

  • Serve it.

Advice

  • Wash the spring onions nicely to remove the dirt properly.
  • You can skip the if you don't like the taste.
  • I use mustard oil, but you can choose the oil according to your preference.
  • Make sure cut the potatoes into small pieces.
